Configure Your Group Home Page and Share Resources

Updated on

As a Group Officer, you have the ability to configure the top navigation on your Group's home page, create public and private discussion channels, and share resources in a file library

Configure Group Home Page Top Navigation

From the Group home page, select Settings in the top right to configure the Group’s top navigation menu. Using this editing window, you can check off the menu items members can see. Clicking the wrench to the right of each item in the editing window allows you to edit the name of the item.

Post Discussions

Discussion channels let Group members post and share resources. From the Group home page, Group Officers can select the ellipses to the right of the top navigation settings to create a new discussion channel. The discussion channel will appear on the left side of the Group home page under the General Channel. You can create as many discussion channels as needed.

When you create a discussion channel, you will have the option to create a public or private channel. A public channel is open to all members; a private channel lets you select who can view and access the channel.

Once you’ve created a new channel, you can select it from the Group home page under Channels or from the left menu to start a new post.

Share Files

To share resources in the Files library, select Files in the Dashboard menu and Upload in the top right.

Select a file, click on Upload files and/or drag and drop file(s) into the box.

To upload directly into a folder, select the appropriate folder from the dropdown.

Once a document has been uploaded, select the three dots to the right and select the action:

  • Move a file to a folder
  • Download the file
  • Rename the file
  • Delete the file

From the Files page, click the three dots to the right of a folder to:

  • Change the privacy settings of the folder (This can be used to share the files that are within the folder)
  • Download the folder as a .zip
  • Rename the folder
  • Delete the folder
